Arsenal are more interested in signing 19-year-old Brazilian youngster Maheus Franca than Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio in the summer, according to the Express.
Asensio is set to leave Real Madrid as a free agent this summer.
While Arsenal have previously been linked with Asensio, the Gunners reportedly prefer signing Franca instead of the Spaniard.
Franca currently plays for Brazilian club Flamengo.
He has scored three goals in 26 appearances for Flamengo this season. A
Asensio, meanwhile, scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in 50 games for Real Madrid this season.
However, the reason behind Arsenal’s decision to choose Franca over Asensio is the fact that he provides a long-term solution for Mikel Arteta’s side, according to the report.
Apart from Arsenal, clubs like Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with a move for Asensio this upcoming summer transfer window.
