The Deputy Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Toby Okechukwu has joined other well meaning Nigerians in congratulating the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, and his deputy, Ifeanyi Ossai, on their inauguration.

He said that by signing three Executive Orders on the day of his inauguration, the Governor had demonstrated that he came prepared.

The lawmaker, who represents Aninri/Awgu/Oji River Federal Constituency, stated these in his congratulatory letter to Mbah on his inauguration as the governor of Enugu State.

“He said: “On behalf of my family and constituents, I congratulate you and your deputy, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, on your inauguration.

“I am elated at the promises your administration holds for our state. Having crisscrossed the 68 development Centres of Enugu State during the campaigns, you have a total picture of the environment, geography, beauty, and challenges.

“It is therefore time for the lion to roar and the tiger to show its tigritude in meeting these expectations. In doing so, we have no doubt that you will ensure that the economy and the people of Enugu State will be the ultimate beneficiaries”.

Commending the Executive Orders, Okechukwu said: “I commend in particular your sense of urgency in not only effectively assuming office on the day of your inauguration, but equally issuing three Executive Orders on the same day, namely, Executive Order 001 2023 for the Development of Citizens’ Charter, Executive Order 002 for the Removal of Unauthorised Street Barriers Across the State Within 100 Days; and Executive Order 003 for the Promotion of Economic Growth through Transparency and Efficiency in Government.

“There is no gainsaying that Executive Order for Citizens Charter is a sine qua non and compass for the good and transparent governance of Enugu State through provision of critical social amenities, quality and timely government services, a peaceful and tranquil living environment devoid of insecurity and all threats to life, and provision of a justice system that efficiently adjudicates on all civil or criminal matters.

“We are therefore supremely confident that a renascent Enugu State under your leadership will ultimately claim its historical position as the vanguard and hub of a rejuvenated South East and reference point in the entire country and beyond.”

The lawmaker therefore enjoined the people of Enugu to support Mbah’s administration as it embarks on the onerous task of repositioning the state.
