“Friends advised us to quit music” – Ajebo Hustlers

Nigerian musical duo, Isaiah Precious and George Dandeson, popularly known as Ajebo Hustlers, have shared their journey to stardom.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast hosted by Shopsydoo, they revealed that their journey to fame was not an easy one.

The duo, who hail from Port Harcourt, recalled that some of their friends advised them to quit music because they initially weren’t making a fortune from the profession, years after they kicked off their musical career.

They noted that their pursuit of success required them to rely on the generosity of various family members and friends before they eventually achieved their breakthrough.

They also mentioned that at one point, they stayed with singer D’banj’s younger brother, K-Switch.

“We squatted with K-Switch in 2016. I’m no playing. 2017 nothing was popping. It was 2018, we were still trying to push and then we made a record in 2019 with King Perry. I think we were squatting somewhere then.

“That time we were squatting because music was not working and you now have friends that are telling you, omo, thus music is not working, you sure say you try enter street,” They said.

Ajebo Hustlers is a Nigerian Afrobeat and Highlife group, consisting of Knowledge (Isaiah Precious) as the rapper and Piego (George Dandeson) as the vocalist and hook specialist.

These two talented and creative singers grew up in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria, and they first met in 2010 while working together at a restaurant.
