Enyimba captain Chukwuemeka Obioma admitted that the Aba giants are envious of Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten run.
The eight-time Nigeria Premier League champions failed to end Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten record after they were held to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.
Bendel Insurance remains unbeaten in 21 league games this season, the longest streak in the history of the Nigerian top flight.
Obioma admitted that the Benin Arsenals are a good side and deserve the record.
“To be sincere with you, we are truly envious of Bendel Insurance’s unbeaten run,” he told DAILY POST at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
“We had a game plan to end their unbeaten run, but it wasn’t an easy feat. No doubt, they are a good side and truly warrant keeping their record,” he added.
