Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank PLC, Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe has been listed amongst the recipients of the 2023 National Honours Awards.

According to the list released by the Federal Government, Onyeali-Ikpe would be conferred with the award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger, OON.

It includes prominent personalities such as Emeka Anyaoku, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Tony Elumelu Foundation co-founder, Dr Awele Elumelu, Transcorp Group President, Dr Owen Omogiafo, ex-Governors Bisi Akande and Segun Osoba, Mamman Daura, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, etc.

The OON award joins a list of recognitions Onyeali-Ikpe received recently. She bagged the Banker of the Year 2022 at the Champion Newspapers’ Awards held in May.

Others include Banker of the Year 2022 at the 14th Leadership Annual Conference and Awards, Best Banking CEO Nigeria at the 2023 Global Banking & Finance Awards and one of Top 10 female finalists in the Africa.com Definitive List of Women CEOs.

Onyeali-Ikpe joined Fidelity Bank as an Executive Director in 2015 and was appointed Managing Director/CEO in January 2021. She’s the first female to hold the position in the bank’s history and one of six female CEOs in the industry.

Under Onyeali-Ikpe’s watch, Fidelity Bank grew its PBT from N25.22bilion in 2021 to N53.68billion in 2022. Furthermore, she guided the bank to obtain the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria to expand its operations to the United Kingdom.
