A chieftain of Ohanaeze Ndigbo socio-cultural organization, Okechukwu Isiguzoro has said President Bola Tinubu has proven everybody wrong that his administration would be like that of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Isiguzoro made the remark while commending Tinubu for his handling of the fallout of the subsidy removal.

He pointed out that Tinubu’s persuasive nature of handling the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and other trade unions over the fuel subsidy removal was worthy of note.

Following his declaration on the removal of fuel subsidy, NLC had declared a nationwide strike.

The strike was cancelled following a meeting between representatives of the Federal Government and the NLC.

But, speaking with DAILY POST, the body’s Secretary-General said: “Rising from the elders meeting in Enugu today, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo commends Tinubu for the courageous way he handled the fallout of the removal of fuel subsidy.

“We never expected that he would handle the NLC, elites, and other critical stakeholders trying to make life unbearable for Nigerians over subsidy removal.

“During the campaign, Peter Obi and Atiku agreed that the removal of subsidy is long overdue and must be implemented if they take over governance.

“We have no option than to throw our weight behind Tinubu for his courage and boldness to remove subsidy stands.

“The Federal Government has started well and Tinubu began his government in the right direction. Nigerians home and abroad should fully support the Tinubu-led Federal Government. Our decision is informed by the giant stride he has made in his government to ensure good governance.

“Tinubu has proven everybody wrong that his government would be like his predecessors. This is the first time we are seeing a president in persuasive consultancy to bring the NLC and the TUC together without playing the ostrich.”
