Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has ordered a full investigation into the alleged shooting in the Sabon Gero community in Chikun Local Government Area by operatives of the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS).

The operatives were trying to push back residents attempting to stop the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) from carrying out demolitions in the community.

A statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Muhammad Lawal Shehu, said, “The Governor expressed deep concern about the incident and directed the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the facts of the matter and ensure that justice is served.”

According to the statement, the Governor reiterated his commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens and said the development negates the safety and security agenda of the sustained manifesto of his administration.

The governor, however, called on all parties to remain calm and law-abiding as the investigation is being carried out.

He further emphasized that his administration is committed to upholding the rule of law and would not tolerate any action that violates citizens’ rights or undermines the state’s peace and security.

He called on all residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
