Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has approved the immediate dissolution of all existing Boards and Commissions in the state.

The directive, which came on Monday from the Governor, said all Boards and Commissions still existing in the State under any description are dissolved with immediate effect.

The dissolution, which was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, said it is “with immediate effect.”

Part of the statement read, “members of the Boards and Commissions affected, are directed to, as a matter of urgency, hand over all government assets and property, moveable and immovable in their possession to the most senior civil servant in such Board or Commission”.

They were also ordered to execute the directive within 48 hours from the date of the announcement.

On ascending the number one position of the state, the governor dissolved all the existing chairmen of the various boards and parastatals established by the immediate past governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku

Kefas also dissolved the Caretaker Committee chairmen of the 16 local government councils of the state.

Some members of the dissolved commissions who spoke with DAILY POST said they have long been expecting the dissolution. They revealed that they expected the dissolution since Governor Kefas had dissolved the local government committees and other boards.
