Suspected hoodlums have gunned down a vigilante officer identified as Mustapha in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State.

DAILY POST gathered that, the suspected gunmen who were fully armed with dangerous weapons also shot at two individuals who sustained degrees of injuries.

The incident which happened at the weekend according to sources in Ankpa town revealed that the gunmen arrived in a Toyota Hilux van and shot at their target close to Ejeh Palace by 11 pm on Saturday.

A resident of Ankpa town, Mallam Usman Abubakar, who claimed that the deceased vigilante officer, before his demise, was very prominent in his vicinity revealed that his widow recently put to bed.

“The deceased was found in his pool of blood. Before he could call for help, it was already late. This tragic incident has continued to trigger anger within the Ankpa community.
