The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has paraded 27 suspected thieves involved in illicit trade of unauthorized fertilizer inputs in Zamfara

SC Ikor Oche, Zamfara State Command Public Relations Officer, in a statement, said the suspects were paraded on Friday.

He noted that the 22 male suspects with dangerous hair styles who belong to some criminal gangs that specialize in phone snatching and other criminal activities were arrested by the operatives of the Corps during routine patrol in Gusau metropolis, especially Tudun Wada Area and other dangerous areas earmarked as black spots in Gusau.

According to the statement, the suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons such as knives and cables meant for strangling their victims.

He said three girls within the age bracket of 20 years were arrested at about 23:30 hours with substances suspected to be intoxicants along Top Town Hotels bye-pass, Gusau.

He said the State Commandant, Sani Mustapha assured the public of the readiness of the Corps to prosecute the miscreants, adding that one of the suspects was also arrested with military uniform which he uses for the harassment of his victims.

The statement added that in another development, about 108 unauthorized fertilizer inputs meant for industrial blending of fertilizers were impounded from some illicit dealers of the products in Gusau Zamfara State, adding that Granular Ammonium Sulphate and Muriate of Potash were among the prohibited fertilizer inputs to be sold to the general public.
