Nigerian singer and music producer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has cleared the air concerning her 2023 Oscars red carpet look which caused a stir on social media. Although Tems made multiple best-dressed lists, numerous fashion critics and social media users aired their displeasure over Tems’ dress, stating that it would have obstructed the view of people behind her.
However, in a recent interview with Haper’s Bazaar, the singer clarified that nobody’s view was blocked and people behind her loved the dress. She said, “That’s how it became this whole viral moment with the blocking.
But there was no blocking, I need to put that out there. The person behind me loved what I was wearing and he could see because the stage was up so nobody looked straight“. The Grammy award-winning artiste also stated that she is constantly reminded about the dress anytime she meets a fashion stylist or designer.
