Nigerian artists, Rema and Shallipopi, have broken a new record with their newly released song, “Benin Boys“. The record, which was released yesterday, has become the first collaboration between African acts to hit 1M streams on its first day of release.
The accumulated streams also make the song the first African song released in 2024 to hit the landmark on the first day of release. While this is Rema’s first official release of 2024, the song boasts stellar production and lyrical expertise.
After the release of his album, “Shakespopi“, Shallipopi continues to break new records as he is the first Nigerian artiste to be featured on Rema’s song. The music video for “Benin Boys” has also been released.
