Burna Boy Receives BRIT Billion Award

Burna Boy has been awarded the BRTI Billion Award. The artiste earned this award after surpassing one billion digital streams in the UK. Presented at his just concluded London Stadium show, the award makes him the second African recipient after fellow Nigerian artiste Wizkid. Last year, Burna Boy also became the first Afrobeats artiste to secure a UK No 1 chart position with his album “I Told Them“.

This award comes after the artiste’s sold out show at the London Stadium show. He also performed at this year’s Glastonbury festival. Burna Boy’s new single “Higher” has also amassed 2 million streams on Spotify.
