Former LSU receiver, Kyren Lacy, has died in an apparent suicide inside his car.
The tragic incident happened in Houston while Lacy was being chased by police.
This was contained in a Harrison County sheriff’s report published on Sunday.
Lacy was already facing criminal charges over a fatal car accident in Louisiana last December, that had clouded his NFL prospects.
Harris County authorities claim their pursuit of the 24-year-old late Saturday night ended when his car crashed.
When the police officers approached Lacy’s vehicle, they discovered he had died in an apparent suicide.
“We’re saddened to learn of the tragic passing of former LSU football student-athlete Kyren Lacy,” LSU said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones, as well as his former teammates and coaches impacted by his passing.”
Last season, Lacy led LSU in touchdowns receiving with nine and had declared for this month’s NFL draft.
