The Niger State Government has approved the sum of ₦1.317 billion for the production of 23,400 chairs for public schools across the state.

According to Hajiya Binta Mamman, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, during a press briefing in Minna, the initiative aims to create a more conducive learning and teaching environment in public schools.

She said, “Each chair will come with an attached locker, providing students with a secure space to store their belongings.”

“The distribution of these chairs is expected to enhance the overall educational experience for students in public schools.”

In a related development, Mamman revealed that the state governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has reappointed Mr. Jonathan Vatsa as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.

She stated, “Leveraging his experience as a former Commissioner for Information, Vatsa is expected to bring valuable expertise to his new role.”

The Commissioner further emphasized the state government’s commitment to citizens’ welfare and good governance, while highlighting the positive outcomes of various initiatives launched by the administration.

She also urged citizens to be cautious of false narratives and misinformation, encouraging them to seek clarification through official channels.
