Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has slammed Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher for suggesting that midfielder Declan Rice could leave the Gunners in 2026.

According to Seaman, Carragher was thinking far too much into the future.

Speaking on his football podcast, the former England international said he could not believe what the former Liverpool defender said about Rice and the possibility of the midfielder leaving the Emirates Stadium.

Seaman believes that Mikel Arteta’s team is improving on the pitch, and for this reason, Rice will remain at the club.

He said via Metro:

“Wow. So we’ve not even finished this season and he’s talking about [Arsenal] not doing anything next season… and then someone that might leave the season after!

“Let’s get Uri Geller on and ask him! No, I can’t believe that he [Carragher] has said something like that because I’m excited about next season with Arsenal.”

Declan Rice was the hero at a point in the season, especially during Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarterfinal clash with Real Madrid.

The midfielder netted two free kicks in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium to put the game beyond the 15-time champions. He helped the Gunners secure a 5–1 aggregate scoreline after both legs.
