Darren Bent, a former Tottenham Hotspur player, has urged Liverpool to sign Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries over Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong in their bid to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back position.
Liverpool have been linked with Frimpong as they aim to strengthen their fullback position with Alexander-Arnold leaving Anfield for Real Madrid this summer transfer window.
The England star had already announced his exit from Arne Slot’s side at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The 26-year-old is all set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer as his contract with Arne Slot’s side will expire at the end of the season.
Speaking to talkSPORT amid the Reds link with Frimpong, Bent said: “You know who I’d like [Liverpool] to get at right back and I don’t think they would be able to get him but I’ve liked him for a long time and I think he’s incredible.
“Dumfries! But it is going to cost you,” he stated.
Both Dumfries and Frimpong have been impressive for their respective clubs this season.
Frimpong has five goals and twelve assists across all competitions for Leverkusen so far this season.
Dumfries, meanwhile, has ten goals and six assists across all competitions for Inter this term.
