Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has insisted that his competition with incoming signing Trent Alexander-Arnold will result in two positive outcomes.
Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool will expire on June 30.
The England international is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after agreeing terms with Los Blancos.
Speaking about Alexander-Arnold, Carvajal said their competition within the squad will strengthen both players and bring out the best in them.
“Competition with Trent? Yes, that is clear. It’s not official yet, but it looks like it,” Carvajal said via Madrid Zone.
“Fear? No, there is no fear here. We will be teammates.
“The competition will strengthen both of us and will bring out our best.”
Alexander-Arnold is expected to be part of Real Madrid’s squad for this year’s FIFA Club World Cup.
