Real Madrid ace, Kylian Mbappe, has honoured the departing legendary football icon, Luka Modric.

The Croatian International announced yesterday he will be leaving the club after over a decade of dedicated service to Los Blancos.

Mbappe took his social media handle to hail the Croatia international who would be leaving Madrid along with manager Carlo Ancelotti whose departure at the end of the season has also been confirmed.

Ancelotti would be caoching the Brazilian national team at the end of the season.

Modric, a former Tottenham Hotspur star,  will leave Real Madrid after the FIFA Club World Cup.

Mbappe described Modric as a wonderful person and one of the best players in football history.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star said he counts himself lucky to have played and shared the locker room with the veteran midfielder.

Brate, I was lucky enough to be able to play and share the locker room with you this season,” he wrote on Instagram.

“But you won something that has no price: the respect and the admiration of the world. Thank you for everything LEGEND.”

Modric spent 13 years at the club, having joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012.

Modric won 28 trophies in his 13 years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
