The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that it will not allow some of its members who are supporting Governor Seyi Makinde to continue to remain in the party.

APC issued this warning in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Wednesday.

The statement was signed by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Olawale Sadare.

DAILY POST gathered that some members of the party had earlier praised Makinde for doing what they termed as the best for the state.

However, APC, in the statement, said it would not continue to tolerate those who claim to be its members who are praising the governor.

Sadare, in the statement issued on behalf of the party, said APC would not tolerate anyone jeopardising its efforts to take over the state in 2027.

He described some APC chieftains who have been praising Makinde as politicians driven by self-interest.

Sadare further maintained that every member of APC is expected to support the party in its bid to take over the state in 2027.

He added that the party had done its due diligence and established that some individuals still parading themselves as APC chieftains are, in fact, working for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

He said, “But for selfishness and poor orientation borne out of indiscipline and myopia, no reasonable member of the APC would turn himself into a propaganda machinery for the current PDP administration which has mortgaged the future of the unborn generations by wasting enormous resources on frivolities and inanity in the last six years.

“We found the conducts of the culpable personalities highly reprehensible and irresponsible in view of the facts they both laid claims to being chieftains of our our great party up till the present moment.

“We have done our diligence and established that those who parade themselves as APC chieftains and still work for PDP in recent times have no reasons to engage in such shameful acts but we would engage them as democrats since some school of thoughts are of the opinion that they were either misinformed or misrepresented.”
