President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, told the Governor of Benue State, Fr Hycinth Alia to be ready to receive insults as that was the hallmark of leadership.

As a way of finding lasting solutions to the crisis in the state, he directed Alia to make available land that would be used for cattle ranching.

The President gave the directive while having a town hall meeting with stakeholders in Benue, following the killing of over 200 people by suspected herdsmen recently.

He also directed the immediate formation of Committee of elders which includes all former governors including the incumbent Nasarawa state governor, Abdullahi Sule.

The President also gave a fresh directive to intelligence chiefs to “retune information channels for tangible intelligence to prevent a recurrence”

He also queried the security chiefs, asking them why there has been no arrest yet.

He thanked Chief of Defence Staff and told him to flush out the criminals.

Talking to Governor Alia, Tinubu said be ready for insults. That is the yoke of leadership. Get your lantern. Seek out those leaders to join you to find solutions.

“ I am ready to invest in bringing Peace to Benue “Tinubu assured.

He charged all citizens in Benue to find a common ground and work together for lasting peace.
