As part of its commitment to gender inclusion and capacity building, the Ogun State Water Corporation, OGSWC, is set to launch an initiative aimed at empowering women in the water sector, tagged “Women in Water”.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs and Water Resources, Damilola Otubanjo, made this known in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday.
According to him, the initiative aligns with the SDGs Goal 5 which focuses on gender equality and Goal 6, clean water and sanitation.
The launch is to take place on Friday, 20th June 2025, at the Agency’s Headquarters in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, by 11:00 a.m.
The statement reads in part, “ The initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) with inclusive policy formulation, execution, and infrastructure towards achieving sustainable and equitable water access.
