El-Rufai: Kaduna’ll give APC highest Northern votes – Speaker Abbas assures Tinubu

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has said Kaduna State will give the All Progressives Congress, APC, the highest number of votes from the North in 2027.

Abbas assured President Bola Tinubu that Kaduna State will continue to play a critical role in shaping Nigeria’s political direction.

Speaking in Kaduna on Thursday, the Speaker dismissed the influence of former state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in the North.

Lately, El-Rufai had teamed up with the opposition coalition determined to remove Tinubu from power in 2027.

El-Rufai had declared that Tinubu cannot win the 2027 presidential election.

Dismissing El-Rufai’s influence, Abbas assured Tinubu that Governor Uba Sani and his allies would ensure that Kaduna State produces the highest votes in the North.

He said: “Kaduna State is a state that plays a critical role in shaping Nigeria’s political direction and development priorities, your visit today is timely and significant, it reflects leadership that engages directly, listens attentively, and responds with hardship.

“We acknowledge with deep sympathy the loss of lives in Yelwata in Benue State and we commend you for responding not only through pronouncement but also by your personal presence in Makurdi.

“Mr President, Kaduna has long been at the centre of Nigeria’s national conversation, politically, economically and historically.

“In the 2023 election, the APC received over 30 percent of the valid votes in the state. While that outcome may appear insignificant, it leaves room for growth and I want to assure you that the governor and his sons will do everything possible to ensure that come 2027, Kaduna State will produce probably the highest number of votes in the Northern part of Nigeria.

“Your excellency, Kaduna has no reason to vote anyone else in 2027.

“My belief is pending on your administration’s commitment to Kaduna in every practical terms. You have initiated a wide range of infrastructure of federal projects that directly impacts the state of Kaduna.”
