Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the safe rescue of two persons who were abducted from an Agro Vet shop situated in the Oke-Are area of Ilero, within Kajola Local Government Area.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to Osifeso, “The police are pleased to announce the successful rescue of two salesgirls who were abducted late in the evening of Tuesday, from an Agro Vet shop located at Oke-Are Ilero, Oyo State.”

He noted that the victims were recovered unhurt on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, following a prompt and well-coordinated operation carried out by the command’s intelligence and tactical teams, in collaboration with local hunters and vigilante operatives.

Osifeso added that both victims underwent comprehensive medical checks to ensure they were in good condition and have since been reunited with their families.

He also stated that a manhunt has been launched for the perpetrators behind the abduction.
