Mallam Salihu Isa Nataro, a senior All Progressives Congress, APC, figure from Kebbi State, has hit back at Governor Nasir Idris, accusing him of launching a political vendetta aimed at undermining his influence within the party.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, Nataro criticised Governor Idris for allegedly mobilising aides to launch personal attacks rather than focusing on pressing issues in Kebbi such as insecurity and rising poverty.

He said that since voicing his concerns, he had received threats and insults from supporters of the state government.

“I received threats and insults within 24 hours, even though my call for transparency was merely civic,” Nataro stated, alleging that the state government retaliated by ordering the demolition of his family home through the Ministry of Works.

Nataro, who previously contested for governor under the National Democratic Party, NDP, and was instrumental in forming the APC in Kebbi, said attempts by the Idris administration to silence critics would not succeed.

“If, in 2027, the people insist I run again, no one, not even Governor Idris, can stop me,” he said.

The APC leader urged Governor Idris to shift attention from political vendettas and instead focus on critical challenges such as poverty, insecurity, and responsible public spending in Kebbi State.
