Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General, Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd), has commended troops of the Nigerian Army for their gallantry in decimating Boko Haram terrorists for attempting to infiltrate their location in Buratai, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

Buratai gave the commendation in a post via his verified Facebook page after visiting to his hometown.

The former Army boss, during the visit, made a stop over at the Forward Operation Base (FOB) Buratai, where he met with troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion and praised their resilience and commitment in the fight against insurgency.

“I urged the troops to maintain the tempo and keep the flag flying”, he posted.

Buratai also commended the COAS Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede for his strategic leadership and morale boosting efforts for the troops operating across the country.

“I have full confidence that the Nigerian military will do its best to surmount the security challenges across the country.

“The support of all other security agencies is needed to achieve the desired end state of a secure and peaceful Nigeria”, he posted.
