Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has paid tribute to the late Alhaji Aminu Dantata, describing his passing as the end of an era and the loss of a towering figure in Nigeria’s moral and entrepreneurial legacy.

In a post on his official X handle on Saturday, Atiku described the late Dantata as a patriarch of industry, philanthropy and civic morality, a career framed by an ethos of quiet generosity, principled leadership and a sustained stewardship of the progress of society.

Atiku said, ‘Alhaji Dantata was not only a business icon, but he was a conscience of his generation.

Dantata’s name was etched in the fabric of our nation, and through quiet philanthropy, principled leadership and an unwavering commitment to uplifting society.’

The former Vice President shared how Dantata’s humility overshadowed his huge wealth, his befitting wisdom for public and private advice and service towards humanity, and that he was a moral compass not only for the people of Kano, but also for the country as a whole.

“As we bid farewell to this titan of integrity and compassion,” Atiku continued, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Dantata family, the Kano Emirate Council, and the people of Nigeria.” He concluded by praying for the late philanthropist, saying, *“May Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, multiply his rewards, and grant him eternal repose in Aljannatul Firdaus.”*
