Veteran Nollywood actor, Lalude has revealed that he and his colleagues were given N10,000 daily for feeding while campaigning for President Bola Tinubu in 2023.

Lalude made this public while expressing regret and frustration over the hardship faced after Tinubu’s victory.

Speaking in an interview that is trending on social media, the actor explained that he campaigned for Tinubu alongside his colleagues for a month and three weeks without payment.

Expressing his grievances, Lalude disclosed that they were only paid N10,000 daily for feeding, and are yet to receive rewards for the campaign after two years of Tinubu in office.

“They were giving us N10,000 daily for feeding. It was supposed to be more than that for campaign opportunities, but they decided to be giving us N10,000. And when they get to know that we are saving the money, they reduced the amount and sometimes they won’t even give us for like two to three days.

“And after the whole campaign job for a month and three weeks, they refused to pay us for it. Those withholding our financial benefits for the campaign will not be fortunate for the rest of their life,” he stated

The actor spoke a few days after his colleague, Alapini, expressed regret for campaigning for Tinubu alongside hundreds of his colleagues.

This is coming two years after the 2023 general elections.

DAILY POST reports that Nigerian celebrities who declared support for Tinubu pduring the last general elections include Saheed Balogun, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Abraham, Eniola Badmus, Olaiya Igwe, Seyi Law among others.

The development which didn’t sit well with many Nigerians, sparked controversy on the social media, with some of their fans unfollowing them while many criticised their decision due to the growing economic hardship and insecurity under the the Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
