British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has urged US President Donald Trump to tell Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the ‘terrible’ conflict in Gaza now.
Morgan made the plea in a post via his X account on Sunday.
“President @realDonaldTrump, now is the time for you to tell @netanyahu
to end this terrible war in Gaza, and stop the incessant daily slaughter of civilians,” Morgan tweeted.
“Only you can do this, and as your friend, who knows you hate war, I urge you to.”
DAILY POST reports that Morgan’s comments is coming after the Israel Defense Forces, IDF, confirmed at the weekend that they had eliminated one of the founders of Hamas in a joint operation with the Israel Security Agency, ISA.
IDF said Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, a senior figure in Hamas’ military wing, was killed in Gaza City in an airstrike in the Sabra on Friday.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu has been facing growing calls from opposition politicians, relatives of hostages being held in Gaza and even members of his ruling coalition to end the fighting, prompted by Palestinian militant group Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack.
But Trump recently said that progress was being made to end the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, as a new ceasefire push began more than 20 months since the start of the conflict.
