Gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday attacked a remote community on the outskirts of Doka Maijama’a village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting a 60-year-old farmer and killing his son.

The attackers, reportedly armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons, stormed the residence of Malam Isiya Abdullahi around 2:00 a.m. on July 2 and forcibly whisked him away to an undisclosed location.

His 25-year-old son, Suleiman Isiya, was said to have attempted to resist the assailants but was stabbed multiple times during the scuffle. He later died from his injuries at a nearby medical facility.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident has sparked tension in the area, prompting a swift response from Nigerian troops in coordination with local security groups.

Efforts are currently underway to track down the perpetrators and secure the safe return of the abducted farmer.
