Concerted efforts are ongoing to flush bandits and kidnappers out of communities invaded in Lafiagi and Patigi Local Government Areas of Kwara State, DAILY POST can report.

Leading the clearance operations is a Nupe woman in collaboration with security operatives, according to credible sources who requested anonymity.

Recall that some communities in Kwara, including Ndeji, Gbugbu, Lafiagi in Edu Local Government and Lata Nna in Patigi Local Government Area of the state have witnessed more attacks by bandits and kidnappers in recent weeks.

Two victims recently abducted at Ndeji in Edu Local Government, Abass Daniyan, a petrol dealer and his manager Abubakar Issa, were only released by their abductors after payment of N100m ransom.

Another recent kidnap incident in Lafiagi community involved a popular chemical dealer, simply identified as Alhaji Chemical, who still in captivity.

Sources close to the clearance operations informed DAILY POST that “it is now fire for fire as the communities declared that enough is enough.”

“The field operations led by a Nupe woman and security operatives is still ongoing.

“Anyway, progress is being made in the battle fields, in various sectors, in concerted efforts to recover our forests from the bandits who are illegal occupants terrorizing the region,” the sources disclosed.

Efforts to reach security agencies on the development in Ilorin on Friday were not successful.
