Abeje C. Egwa, the immediate past State Women Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State, has resigned her membership from the party, citing unresolved internal crises and divisions.

In her resignation letter dated July 4, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Okete Ward, Otukpo, Egwa pointed to the party’s prolonged internal issues as a key reason for her departure.

She wrote, “I write to formally tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective immediately. This decision has not come easily, as I have been deeply committed to the ideals and vision of the party.

“However, the prolonged internal crises and unresolved divisions within the party has made it increasingly difficult for me to continue my involvement in good conscience,” she stated.

Despite her resignation, Egwa expressed deep appreciation to the party’s leadership for the opportunity to serve:

“It has been a privilege to contribute my quota to the growth and development of the party, and I will always value the experiences and relationships built during my time here.”

She wished the PDP success in its future endeavors.

“I remain hopeful that the party will overcome its present challenges and continue to play a meaningful role in our democratic journey.”
