Nigerian singer Iyanya has opened up about the lowest points of his life, revealing that he lost three family members in quick succession within 2 years.

He stated that his father died about a week before he got signed and his brother passed away immediately after his debut.

He explained that the day his mother died, he was at the backstage waiting to perform at an event when he received the news 4 minutes to schedule. The singer despite the devastating news, he still went on to perform.

Iyanya disclosed this in a recent interview with media personality Hero Daniels.

The music star said, “The lowest points of my life I would say losing three family members in about two years. My dad passed away about seven or eight days to me being recruited. Immediately I came out, my brother followed. And then my mom.

“The day my mom died, I had a show, I was at the backstage. I think four minutes to my performance, my mom’s junior brother was calling me back-to-back. So, I picked the call and he goes like, your mom is dead. I still performed despite my devastation.”
