Chelsea’s talisman, Cole Palmer, has hit back at critics who doubted them before they played Paris Saint-Germain in the final of this year’s Club World Cup final.
Palmer was in sensational form, scoring twice and providing the assist for Joao Pedro, as the Blues thrashed PSG 3-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
After the game, the England midfielder told DAZN that manager Enzo Maresca provided them with the right tactical plan.
“Even better, because obviously everyone doubted us before the game,” Palmer said.
“I like finals and it happened again. The gaffer put a great game plan out.
“He knew where the space was going to be. I just had to repay him and score some goals.
“He’s building something special. We are going in the right direction.”
Cole was also named Player of the Tournament.
