The Kwara State government has issued notices to owners of residential quarters that have been converted for commercial use in Ilorin, the state capital.
The General Manager of the Town Planning Authority in the Kwara State Geographic Information Service, AbdulAkeem Abdulsalam, confirmed the development in an interview with journalists in Ilorin on Monday.
The action, he said, is in line with the nationwide urban renewal project being implemented by the Federal Government across the states of the federation.
According to him, “Enforcement will commence very soon after the affected residents along some major roads in the state capital have been served with the warning notices. They should expect that notice.”
Prompted for the time when the enforcement would occur, he said “it could be anytime.”
