Wizkid has become the most certified Nigerian artiste in South Africa. The artiste clinched this achievement after he earned two new certifications in South Africa for “Come Closer” and “Sweet One”.
The former earned 4X Platinum certifications, while the latter has earned one Gold certification. This new achievement further establishes Wizkid’s position as one of the most awarded African artists.
The artiste was the first African artiste to win an award at the BET outside of the International Act category. His nomination in 2023 also made him the most nominated artiste, with nine mentions. Wizkid has won over 90 internationally recognised awards, including the BET, Grammy, Headies, MOBO, Billboard, and many others.
