Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has urged residents of the nation’s capital to remain security conscious and vigilant during the Easter celebration.
In a statement he personally signed on Friday, Wike urged residents to report any suspicious activity to relevant authorities, and ensure that safety precautions are observed.
The former Rivers governor felicitated with and congratulated residents of Abuja, especially the Christian faithful, for the successful completion of the Lenten season and on the celebration of Easter.
Wike noted that Easter is a season of compassion, sacrifice and forgiveness, virtues, which, according to him, are embodied by Jesus Christ.
He called on residents to be the example of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and harmonious living.
“I call on all residents to continue supporting and cooperating with the Administration by fulfilling their civic responsibilities, particularly in tax payment and compliance with government regulations,” he added.
“As we celebrate, I also urge everyone to remain security conscious. Be vigilant, report any suspicious activity to relevant authorities, and ensure that safety precautions are observed throughout the festive period.
“I pray that this Easter brings forth renewed hope, peace, and joy to your homes.”
