The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of seven individuals by armed men at Eleyin Village, Isin Local Government Area, on Friday, April 25, 2025.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, the incident occurred around 5:45pm when approximately five armed suspects blocked the highway, intercepted two private vehicles, and forcefully abducted all occupants to an undisclosed location.
Upon receiving the distress report, the Kwara State Police Command, in collaboration with the military and local vigilante groups, immediately launched a swift rescue operation. The operation led to the successful rescue of two victims, identified as Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi.
Ejire-Adeyemi stated, “Efforts are ongoing to safely rescue the remaining five victims and apprehend the perpetrators. The Command has intensified security measures across the affected area, including aggressive bush combing, strategic patrols, and intelligence-led operations to prevent further criminal activities.”
She reassured the public of the Command’s firm commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents to remain calm, vigilant, and to support security agencies with credible information that could aid ongoing operations.
