The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has said that materialistic civilisation in Western countries would be eliminated.
He disclosed this in a statement released on his X account on Wednesday.
Khanenei, quoting the Quran in the terse statement, emphasised that Western civilisation, which he described as falsehood, would vanish.
“The false materialistic civilisation in Western countries is destined to perish and will be eliminated. This is the inevitable law of creation: “Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish” (Quran 17:81″), he wrote on X.
His comment comes as Iran and Israel battle for the soul of Gaza.
Recently, the Iran-backed Houthi group fired a missile that landed near Israel’s main airport.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate for the Houthi attack.
However, Iran’s Defence Minister, Aziz Nasirzadeh, said Tehran would strike back if the United States or Israel attacked.
