A 55-year-old cattle herder, Hassan Bukar, survived a brutal knife attack on Tuesday, May 7, 2025, in the Wulo bush of Monguno Local Government Area, Borno State.

Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists ambushed Bukar around 8:30 PM while he was grazing his cattle.

Sources close to Zagazola Makama reported that the attackers inflicted a severe knife wound to the back of Bukar’s neck.

Despite the seriousness of his injury, Bukar bravely managed to survive the assault.

A patrol team from the Monguno Division promptly transported the injured herder to Monguno General Hospital, where he is currently admitted and undergoing medical treatment.

In response to the attack, troops from Sector 3 of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Operation Hadin Kai have increased their operations to locate and neutralize the responsible terrorists.
