Suspected Fulani herdsmen have collected five million Naira ransom payment, as well as food items for the release of their victim, one Mr. Azubuike Bright.

DAILY POST gathered that Bright was kidnapped on Friday night in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area, Delta State.

The victim was released on Sunday night at about 9pm.

Coordinator of the Safe City Project, Comrade Harrison Gwamnishu, a human right activist, confirmed the victim’s release in a statement sent to our correspondent in Warri.

According to Gwamnishu, “This evening, at approximately 9:00 pm, I witnessed his release after N5,000,000 and other items were delivered to the kidnappers.

“The victim reported that his abductors were all Fulani and are still at large in the bush.”

Gwamnishu drew the attention of the government and the relevant security agencies to the alarming rate of kidnapping allegedly carried out by suspected Fulani armed kidnappers who disguised as herdsmen.

He also said the Delta State Police Command led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda was making efforts to address the situation.

Bright was abducted on Friday night when he went to buy food.

His abductors earlier demanded fifty million naira for his release.
