Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said the decision for Omar Marmoush to take a penalty against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final was taken between him and Erling Haaland.

Palace won the game 1-0 at Wembley, with Eberechi Eze scoring the only goal in the first half of the match.

City were then given the chance to equalize, after the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Bernardo Silva before the break.

But Haaland, who is the usual taker, opted to hand the ball to Marmoush to take the spot-kick.

Marmoush saw his effort saved by Dean Henderson, with the England goalkeeper producing more crucial saves to ensure his team won the trophy.

When asked why Marmoush took the penalty over Haaland, Guardiola said: “I don’t know, I didn’t speak to them.

“They made a decision. They decide.”
