Brighton player, Carlos Baleba has insisted that three Premier League football stars have informed him that he can win the Ballon d’Or.

Speaking with SunSport, the Cameroonian midfielder also expressed his desire to win the top individual award.

Baleba’s desire to win the Ballon d’Or is coming after Manchester City and Spain midfielder, Rodri won the previous award ahead of the likes of Vinicius and Jude Bellingham.

“Declan Rice, Matheus Cunha, Joelinton, they have all told me I have got it in me [to win the Ballon d’Or],” Baleba said.

“I want to win the Ballon d’Or like Rodri [won it in 2024].

“His success [in with Spain at the 2024 Euros and Manchester City winning the 2024 Premier League title] has opened the door for midfielders like us to believe we can win the Ballon d’Or someday.”

Baleba, who joined Brighton in 2023 from Lille, is not among the top favourites to battle for the Ballon d’Or this year because of his performances and that of his club this term.

As a result, he has to wait and hope to win the prestigious top individual award in the future.
