No fewer than three persons sustained varying degrees of injuries following an armed robbery attack in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Wednesday morning.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at approximately 11:30 am in the Mokola area of the city, when a group of armed robbers stormed a shop.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victims were about to enter the store to purchase provisions meant for retail when they were attacked. The assailants reportedly carted away an undisclosed sum of money during the raid.

The injured individuals were swiftly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, said that an investigation into the matter had commenced.

“Good evening Sir. Investigation has commenced. Updates would be communicated accordingly, please,” Osifeso stated in response to an enquiry.

Further updates are expected as police continue their investigation into the attack.
