Suspected kidnappers launched a violent ambush on commuters along the Nasarawa-Keffi Road on Sunday evening, leaving one person missing and several others traumatised.

According to Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. between the Gunki and Marmara axis, where armed men opened fire and blocked several vehicles, forcing travellers to flee for safety.

Among the passengers targeted were Sunday Uche and Mohammed Babawuro, who were travelling in a Toyota Hiace Bus (Reg. No. FKY 728 ZA). Both managed to escape into the surrounding bushes with other passengers, who have since been found and accounted for.

However, there is serious concern about the safety of Adoga Gupada Aruwa, who is believed to be a staff of the Code of Conduct Bureau. His Toyota Highlander was found at the location, which had a bullet hole in the engine compartment, but no injuries or blood to indicate that he was hurt, intensifying fears of abduction.

Search and rescue operations are well-underway, and law enforcement are asking for help from any members of the public with information to help find the missing occupant.
