A young motorcyclist, simply identified as Osinachi, has been shot dead by a group of armed men riding in motorcycle in Uturu, Isuikwuato LGA of Abia State.

The victim who was coming out from a corner of a road in Uturu, riding in his own motorcycle, was gunned down at close range by the gunmen who sped off after the shooting.

It was not clear if the attack was linked to a robbery or assassination, where the gunmen came from or where they headed to after the attack but Abia State Police Command has confirmed the incident, saying that it has commenced investigation into.

Message from the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the Abia Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka said the victim was taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“A Report of the incident was made at the Uturu Divisional Headquarters, and officers were immediately mobilized to the crime scene, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO).

“The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead. His body has been deposited at the morgue.

” Exhibits were recovered from the scene, and a patrol team has been robboting the area as discreet Investigation is ongoing”, the PPRO said.
