The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, has tasked the Tiv community in Taraba on peaceful coexistence with other groups in the state.
Akume made this call on Sunday during the Traditional Chieftaincy Award on Mrs John Tor-Agbidye in Tor-Damisa, Donga Local Government Area of Taraba state.
The SGF, who was represented by the Director of Administration in his office, Francis Kyenge, stressed that development could only thrive where there was peace.
The former Benue State Governor applauded the Tiv community for honouring Tor-Agbidye, whom he described as an embodiment of scientific and medical knowledge of the present generation.
The ex-Minister of Special Duties advised the title holder to continue his selfless service to humanity and contributions to global medicine development.
