A foam factory in Oyo town of Oyo State has been destroyed by fire.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at Global Crystal foam Nigeria Limited located at Oko-Oba area of Akinmorin Road in Oyo.

The fire incident which occurred on Tuesday, affected the warehouse of the foam factory.

Equipment and properties were said to have been affected.

Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande when contacted confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday saying his officers were deployed to tackle the fire.

He said, “The fire incident was reported at exactly 22:39hr on Tuesday 8th July 2025.

“The agency’s officers led by CFM Yisau Lateef swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident. On getting to the scene of the incident we met the warehouse of the foam mattress company engulfed by fire.

“The firemen quickly got to work by applying necessary fire fighting chemicals in curtailing the fire. The fire was strictly restricted from where we met it and prevented it from spreading to other sections of the company. The fire was extinguished completely

“The fire was as a result of spontaneous reactions due to overwhelming from the accumulated mattresses. The fire slightly affected the foam warehouse and properties worth millions of naira were saved by  the agency”.
