A long-standing and potentially violent land dispute between Isienu-Amagunze in Nkanu East Local Government Area and Ndiuno Akpugo in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State has been peacefully resolved by the Enugu State Boundary Committee. Some lecturers at the Abia State University, Uturu whose salaries were stopped since June 2024, have appealed to Governor Alex Otti to consider their appeals for salary payment. The lecturers include Adu Chukwuemeka Thompson, Dr Nwosu Nkemakolam Bright of Industrial Chemistry Department and Okpechi Chinemerem from English Department. They said they were employed in 2023 but lamented that their salaries stopped coming from June 2024 till date.
