A foam factory in Oyo town of Oyo State has been destroyed by fire. DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred at Global Crystal foam Nigeria Limited located at Oko-Oba area of Akinmorin Road in Oyo. The fire incident which occurred on Tuesday, affected the warehouse of the foam factory. Equipment and properties were said to have been affected. Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande when contacted confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday saying his officers were deployed to tackle the fire. The Taraba State Commission of Inquiry into communal conflicts has formally commenced its activities with an inaugural meeting held on Wednesday at High Court No. 3 in the Taraba State High Court Complex, Jalingo. The Commission, inaugurated by Governor Agbu Kefas, is tasked with the responsibility of investigating the root causes of communal crises in Karim Lamido local government council and other affected areas across the state. The Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa has advised All Progressives Congress, APC, candidates from Lagos West Senatorial District in the forthcoming local government election not to disrespect democratic institutions and practices. Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has renewed calls for the establishment of state police, citing the worsening insecurity in the state and the limited control governors have over federal security agencies.
